Victor Owusu Foundation Donates Sports Kits to St. Joseph R/C Primary School and Ampunyase D/A JHS Following Completion of Free Classes

The Victor Owusu Foundation continues its impactful work in the education sector with a generous donation of sports kits to St. Joseph R/C Primary School and Ampunyase D/A Junior High School in the Akrofuom District, located in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. The donation followed the successful conclusion of a three-week free educational program organized by the Foundation for the students, aimed at enhancing their academic performance and promoting holistic development.

Celebrating Academic and Physical Development

The three-week free classes, held for both primary and junior high school students, were designed to provide additional academic support, especially for subjects where students faced challenges. The classes were led by qualified volunteer teachers who focused on improving students’ understanding of core subjects such as Mathematics, Science, and English. The initiative helped students build confidence in their studies and better prepare for upcoming exams.

In addition to academic enrichment, the Victor Owusu Foundation recognizes the importance of physical education in the overall development of students. As part of its commitment to nurturing both mind and body, the Foundation donated sports kits, including footballs, jerseys, and other athletic gear, to both St. Joseph R/C Primary School and Ampunyase D/A JHS. This donation aims to encourage students to actively participate in sports and stay physically active, which complements their academic pursuits.

Strengthening School Sports Programs

During the presentation ceremony, a representative from the Foundation highlighted the importance of sports in fostering teamwork, discipline, and physical fitness among students. By providing the necessary equipment, the Foundation hopes to enhance the schools’ sports programs and inspire students to explore their athletic talents.

Education is not only about what happens in the classroom. Physical education plays a crucial role in building character and teaching important life skills such as teamwork and perseverance. We are proud to support the growth of these students in both their academic and physical endeavors,” said the representative.

Gratitude from the Schools and Community

The headteachers of both St. Joseph R/C Primary School and Ampunyase D/A JHS expressed their profound gratitude to the Victor Owusu Foundation for its ongoing support. They acknowledged that the donation of sports kits would significantly improve the schools’ sports programs, providing students with better opportunities to engage in extracurricular activities.

These sports kits will not only benefit the students in their physical development but will also boost their morale and school spirit. We are thankful for the Victor Owusu Foundation’s continuous efforts to enrich the lives of our students, both academically and physically,” stated the headteacher of Ampunyase D/A JHS.

Parents and community members who attended the event also commended the Foundation for its dedication to the development of their children, emphasizing how the free classes and sports kits have positively impacted the students.

Looking Ahead: A Holistic Approach to Education

The donation of sports kits marks yet another milestone in the Victor Owusu Foundation’s broader mission to support the education and well-being of children in Ghana, particularly in rural communities. By combining academic programs with physical education initiatives, the Foundation is taking a holistic approach to developing well-rounded individuals who are equipped for both academic success and life’s challenges.

The Foundation plans to continue organizing similar programs and expanding its reach to more schools in the region, ensuring that students have the resources, support, and motivation they need to excel in all areas of life.
